Information about Invisalign® orthodontic care

Please read “Your Invisalign Treatment informed consent and Agreement for the Invisalign Patient” for general information about your treatment.

The following is additional information you should know:

  1. There is no charge for an initial Invisalign consultation.  Should you decide to proceed with the Invisalign treatment, there is a non-refundable fee of $600.00 to start the process. This fee includes the examination, treatment plan, impressions, photographs and the “Clin-Check” consultation.  The fee does not include any radiographs. Invisalign requires a panoramic radiograph for treatment.  Our fee for this is $99 and is usually covered by insurance. (Should Invisalign decide not to treat your case, the $600.00 will be refunded in full).

  2. Invisalign will send a “Clin-Check” computer 3-D model of your case showing the expected treatment.  You will have the opportunity to accept, change or reject the planned treatment at this time.  Should you decide to decline further treatment, your $600.00 is non-refundable, but there will be no additional charges.

  3. Your total fee will vary depending on the extent of your treatment and is usually determined from the initial examination, radiographs (x-rays), study models and photographs.  We will consult with both the orthodontists at Invisalign and a local orthodontist about your case.

  4. Once you accept the “Clin-Check” on the computer and ask that we have the Invisalign trays made, the balance of your total fee is due and payable in full.  We will fill out your insurance forms for you and the insurance company will reimburse you.  The amount insurance pays will depend on your company policy.

  5. We pay an insurance fee for you that pays for extra trays should we get to the end of treatment and the results are not as expected at the final stage.  Invisalign will make up to five additional trays to “finish” your case should it be necessary.  There is no additional charge for you.

  6. Should you lose a single tray (upper or lower) the replacement charge is $100.00 per tray.

  7. Should you stop wearing your trays for a long enough time that they no longer fit, or if your teeth are changed due to an accident or dental treatment and the trays no longer fit, Invisalign charges $1000 to remake your trays.  This also applies if you decide to change your treatment goals and have new trays made.

  8. You will be given trays at intervals of six to eight weeks so we can examine you and see that you are progressing as expected.  There is no charge for these visits as long as you do not break appointments.  After two broken appointments, there will be a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 for any additional appointments.

  9. At the end of treatment, your final trays can often be used as a retainer to continue wearing at night to keep your teeth straight.  If you need a new set of removable retainers at any point, the charge will be $150.00 per set (upper and lower).
