Information about Invisalign® Orthodontic Care in Our Office
Please read “Your Invisalign Treatment Informed Consent and Agreement for the Invisalign Patient” for general information about your treatment.
- There is no charge for an initial Invisalign consultation. Should you decide to proceed with the Invisalign treatment, there is a non-refundable fee to start the process. This fee includes the examination, treatment plan, impressions, photographs and the consultation. The fee does not include any radiographs. Invisalign requires a panoramic radiograph for treatment and is usually covered by insurance.
- Invisalign will send a Clin-Check® computer 3-D video of your case showing the expected treatment. You and your doctor will have the opportunity to accept, change or reject the planned treatment at this time. Should you decide to decline further treatment, your initial fee is non-refundable, but there will be no additional charges.
- Your total fee will vary depending on the extent of your treatment and is usually determined from the initial examination, radiographs (x-rays), study models and photographs. We may consult with both the orthodontists at Invisalign and a local orthodontist about your case. Generally, your case will be a "Full" case for most situations, or an “Express” case, if only minor changes are expected.
- Once you accept the computer Clin-Check and ask that we have the Invisalign trays made, the balance of your total fee is due and payable in full. Please discuss your financial obligations with our front desk before your treatment begins. We will fill out your insurance forms for you but the amount insurance pays will depend on your company policy.
- If extra trays are needed at the end of treatment and the results are not as expected at the final stage there is no additional cost to you, unless you have not been wearing trays as instructed.
- Should you lose a single tray (upper or lower) Invisalign has a charge to re-make a tray, if we can’t proceed without it.
- Should you stop wearing your trays for a long enough time that they no longer fit, or if your teeth change due to an accident or dental treatment and the trays no longer fit, Invisalign will charge to remake them. This also applies if you decide to change your original treatment goals after treatment has started and have new trays made.
- You will need to return to our office and receive trays at intervals of six to eight weeks so we can examine your teeth and see that you are progressing as expected. There is no charge for these visits as long as you do not break appointments.
- At the end of treatment, you will enter into the retention phase of treatment. You will need to wear retainer trays or appliances to keep your teeth in their finished positions. The initial retainer(s) will need to be worn full time at first and later only at night. The initial Invisalign Vivera, Hawley or e-appliance retainer fee is included in your Invisalign fee. There is a charge for replacements in the future. You will need to wear retainers forever in order to keep your teeth from moving.
